Welcome

It's been a year since a last blogged.  Maybe even a little longer.  And a lot has happened.  I'll try to fill in the gaps as I can, but for now, I'm moving forward.  You see, I've let the fact that I've fallen behind on my posts keep me from making any current updates.  I'm one of those people who feels like everything has to be in chronological order.  But I'm also a mom who desperately wants to record the happenings of our little family so I can look back and see where we've been, and look ahead to where we are going.  So, here I go...

William and I decided we wanted to have another baby a little over  year ago.  I really wanted to have a September baby, but when that didn't happen, all I said was that I didn't want to have a Christmas baby.

Rachel Noelle Hoffart was born on December 20. That's right, we had a Christmas baby.  Isn't there a saying about how if you tell God your plans He'll laugh and show you He's in control?

My pregnancy was a normal pregnancy, no real complications or anything.  We found out along the way were were going to have a girl.  We agreed on the name Rachel early on - though we did have a short list of other names we were willing to consider if the name didn't seem to fit (Emily and Elizabeth were at the top of the list), but it wasn't until just before Rachel arrived that we agreed on Noelle for the middle name.

Andrew and Megan adjusted to having a new baby in the house much easier than I could have ever hoped.  I wasn't concerned about Andrew, really.  He's been through this before.  But, I was worried "Daddy's Little Girl" might have a hard time sharing the spotlight.  She didn't, though.  Megan is a great big sister!

My next post will be Rachel's birth story.  That's a post I don't want to omit, even though it won't be in order.  I look back at the blogs I started when both Andrew and Megan were born pretty often.  They serve as my baby books for them.  And I want to do the same for Rachel.
